Are you ready? Here's the finished product (before we moved everything back in):
A view from the tub back towards the vanity.
This cabinet fits perfectly into the little recessed nook and I love that each kid has a basket to keep their random bathroom trinkets.
The granite top was a bit of a splurge but so worth it. It'll stand up to the wear and tear and the color variation will hide little spills well. It's all about having the dirt blend in :)
When you walk into the bathroom, you're greeted by this guy right next to the vanity.
And then this print is next to the window. Just need to make the window treatment and the octopus theme will be complete!
And the grand before and after comparison:
Later this week, I'll break down all of the materials, sources and costs for you. I also have a few ideas on how to design with kids in mind and will show how I incorporated kid-friendliness into the bathroom.

Looks great, Chris. I love the granite!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerry! I love the granite too...so worth the $!
DeleteWonderful improvement! I like the nook for the mirror, and the baskets. We always have STUFF cluttering up the sink.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruth! Totally hear you about kid STUFF...hence, the baskets :)
DeleteIt looks so good! That square sink echoes all the other rectangles in the room, good job!
ReplyDeleteThanks buddy!
DeleteLove it! Since I have this bathroom's "sister", I was really waiting for this reveal. Was the inset behind the vanity there in the original BR, or did you create that? Congrats on a great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie! The nook was just part of the bathroom, it's a weird 25 inches between two closets. We went back and forth about building it out so the wall would be flush. But with such a small room we needed those few extra inches. Now I kind of love that the vanity and cabinet are tucked in there. Oh, and stay tuned for the master bath...we're going modern for that one!
