Progress Week {Kids Bathroom}

Hi everyone. Happy Monday? There's been a lot of project work going on around here that I'll share with you this week. Nothing's done, but it's been awesome to see progress. And anyways, when is a house ever really done?

As we've talked about before, it's time to renovate our upstairs kids bathroom, affectionately known as the Blue Beauty. {If you want to catch up, here's a post with a mood board.}

So last week we said goodbye to all that blue! My awesome brother-in-law/contractor ripped out the vanity and toilet first.

One of the many reasons why I love having him work on our house is how neat and careful he is. Instead of trekking loads of debris through the house, he rigged up a trash barrel on a ladder to lower down one load at a time. Such a smartie.

By the end of the day, the bathroom was looking like this! And since I took this pic, the old tub has been taken out, the plumbers have put in the new tub and surround, and the electricians have done a little wiring upgrade. It's just a little hard to get in there during the day to sneak a picture!

In the meantime, I did a little shopping and picked up all of this plumbing. I really wanted to stick with a single handle faucet...something tells me little Freckle Girl would burn herself if she had to use both a hot and cold knob. We'll probably also replace the shower head with a hand-held one. It's just easier to rinse off all the monkeys that way.
I also ordered this vanity from Home Depot. We have a weird little nook to fit it in so we couldn't go with something in stock. Luckily it was delivered within a few days. By the way, have you noticed that most vanities are on legs nowadays? I just can't imagine being able to keep it clean under there. So I went with one that goes right to the floor.

And by far the BEST part of having our bathroom under construction is that for a few days we had an old toilet on our lawn. Aww yeah, we're classy like that!
