If you follow decorating blogs at all, you've probably noticed that this season it's all about gold. Gold home decor is EVERYWHERE.

Aside from the accents available to buy, there are tons of DIY options. One of my favorites is this DIY gold table that took a basic glass table to glam with a little gold spray paint.

Or you can hop on the dip train like these glasses.

For me, the jury's still out. I have so much brushed nickel, silver, and mercury glass around my home that I'm not sure how gold accents would work. So what's your vote? Yay or No Way?

Yay!
ReplyDeleteWish I had a "like" button! I'm always trying to get people to comment so thanks!
DeleteI am totally AGAINST gold/brass fixtures, like faucets, doorknobs, etc. because they look so dated, even when new. I think gold can definitely work, as long as the pieces are clearly modern.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more! I'm not sure I could pull it off.
DeleteI agree with Zuzka too re: gold/brass looking dated. BUT, it seems to be making a come-back of sorts. I'm not a gold fan whether it be for the home or jewelry but if you like gold, then go for it. Choosing a room to put little gold touches in could be fun!
ReplyDeleteEh, by the time I get around to trying it, the trend will probably have passed!
DeleteI'm not a gold fan either, brushed brass is okay probably because it's dulled and often patinaed (sp?). Gold makes me think of King Tut and pyramids. Doesn't feel warm/inviting.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Hadn't thought of the King Tut look.
