Mini Gallery Wall {Expanding My Simple DIY}

Good morning. If you've been reading here for a while, you might remember this post about covering an old, non-functional, heat detector box in our upstairs hallway.

We took off the face plate and framed a cute piece of wrapping paper to cover it.

That was an improvement, sure. But for the past few months it was nagging at me. It still just looked kinda sad.

Operation Gallery Wall!  I recently sorted through all of the kids artwork and pulled out a few cool abstract pieces, one from each kid. I found a few extra white frames we had kicking around too.

Isn't that so much better?  I love how the thermostat blends right in now. And I centered the shelf where we house the kids folded laundry until it can be put away. Duh. Why didn't that occur to me sooner? Such a small change makes a big difference.

I see this wall as a work-in-progress. I'd love to swap out the artwork as the kids get older. And maybe fill in some of those empty spaces.

Not bad for a budget of $0 to give this little area a face lift. Have a great weekend!
